Hand mills

Hand mills

In this collection of mills picked up in different places of the city we can make a difference considering the working of two types: one easier (of swinging or in the shape of ship), the older that we had in the history that is constituted by a fixed stone, in the shape of ship keel and another upper that is littler exercising a movement of “swinging” to mill grain. The second type of circular shape that is constituted by two coupled stones (engaged with a central axle of iron or wooden). The lower stone is fixed and the upper is movable and with its movement of rotation milled grain or acorns, introducing through the central space and the flour went out from the gap that leaves the joint of the two stones.
